Age Verification Policy
This policy explains how Haka Play restricts access to users who are at least the legal gambling age in New Zealand (18+).
1) Eligibility (18+)
Our product is intended for adults. You must be 18 years or older to create an account, access gameplay, or use any features on our services. We do not knowingly allow minors to use the service.
2) Age-gating at sign-up
- Date of birth entry: you must provide your date of birth during registration.
- Self-certification: you confirm you meet the 18+ requirement and that the information provided is accurate.
- Access controls: we may block registration or restrict access where the date of birth indicates you are under 18.
3) Ongoing checks and verification
We may use reasonable methods to confirm age and identity, including automated checks and manual review. If we cannot verify you are 18+, we may restrict features or suspend the account until verification is completed.
- Account checks: consistency checks of account data (e.g., date of birth, device and account signals).
- Document verification (if required): we may request evidence such as a government-issued photo ID and/or proof of address. We only request what is reasonably necessary.
- Additional information: where needed, we may ask follow-up questions to resolve mismatches or suspected underage use.
4) Suspected minors
If we suspect an account is used by someone under 18, we may take steps including: restricting access, suspending the account, requesting age verification, and closing the account if underage use is confirmed. We may also disable associated accounts where appropriate.
5) Account closure and data handling
Where we close an account for underage use, we handle associated personal information in line with our privacy practices and legal obligations. We may retain limited records as required for security, compliance, fraud prevention, or dispute handling.
6) Parents/guardians: request review or deletion
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has provided us with personal information or is using the service, contact us to request investigation and, where appropriate, deletion/closure. Please include the username, email used, and any relevant details to help us locate the account.
