Purchases & Refund Policy
Applies to Haka Play on hakaplay.com (New Zealand). Last updated: 23 March 2026.
1) What you can buy
We may offer optional purchases of virtual coins, chips, boosters, or similar in-game items (“Virtual Items”). These are for entertainment and gameplay only.
- Virtual Items have no cash value, are not legal tender, and cannot be redeemed for money or anything of monetary value.
- Virtual Items are non-withdrawable and non-transferable (no gifting, resale, or exchange between users).
- Purchases do not increase your chances of winning real money (we do not offer real-money gambling).
2) Pricing, fees & taxes
Prices are shown at checkout in NZD unless stated otherwise. Where applicable, New Zealand GST may be included in the displayed price or added at checkout depending on the purchase channel. Your bank or payment provider may apply foreign exchange or processing fees.
3) How purchases are processed
Purchases may be processed by us directly or via a third-party platform (for example, Apple App Store or Google Play). When you buy through a platform, your transaction is also subject to that platform’s payment terms, billing support, and refund rules.
4) Receipts & purchase records
After purchase, a receipt is typically provided by your payment provider or the app store. Please keep your receipt and order details. If you contact us, include the approximate purchase time, amount, and any order/transaction ID.
5) Refunds (eligibility & process)
Because Virtual Items are delivered immediately and cannot be returned, refunds are generally not provided for change-of-mind purchases. However, we will consider refund requests where required by law or where an issue occurred, such as:
- Duplicate or erroneous charges.
- Purchase not received (after reasonable troubleshooting).
- Unauthorised transactions (subject to verification and timely notice).
- Major failure or misrepresentation as recognised under New Zealand consumer law.
If you purchased via an app store, you must request the refund through that store’s support channels (they control billing and refunds). If you purchased directly from us, contact Support (see section 8). We may ask for additional information to investigate.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.
6) Chargebacks & payment disputes
Before initiating a chargeback, please contact Support so we can help resolve the issue. Unjustified or fraudulent chargebacks may result in account restrictions, reversal of Virtual Items granted, or suspension where permitted by our Terms. We may provide relevant transaction information to the payment provider to respond to disputes.
7) Account responsibility
You are responsible for purchases made through your account and device. If you believe your account was compromised or a minor made a purchase without permission, contact us promptly and secure your account/device settings.
